I have a new build project, in which the proposal is to build up to the boundary. The neighbour was insistent that he wanted the Party Wall Act paperwork done correctly, so as to protect his own property. I was recommended Andy Lane of Devon Party Walls. Upon 1st contact, it was apparent that Andy was very easy to get on with and professional in his manner. I felt at ease appointing Andy for the role. If you are thinking of going ahead with a Party Wall agreement without using an expert like Andy think again. He is a consummate professional, who is 'firm but fair' in his communication style and feedback, whilst independent in his approach to resolving issues. He might not always tell you everything you might be hoping to hear, but he delivers on his commitments, was always available and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Andy provided free initial advice and then helped us with serving notices on our neighbour. Fixed pricing structure was made clear from the outset. Notices were successfully served and agreed without the need for an Award. Andy also liaised with our builder and architect to ensure appropriate drawings to accompany the notices without additional charge. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Unfortunately 1 neighbour proved to be extremely difficult and awkward and forced a dispute. Andy was ultra professional and level headed throughout this testing period. His advice and strategy was invaluable throughout this unchartered territory for us. Andy was very knowledgeable about subject matter, able to counter challenge to AO Surveyor and give us reassurance . Equally firm and fair with us. Definitely use DPW again.

Party Wall guidelines, information and help. We had very good customer service. Everything was explained clearly so we knew how to proceed as we hadn't fully understood beforehand. Letters were written on our behalf to our party wall neighbours and we received copies. Mr Lane kept us informed throughout. He surveyed our property and took photos prior to any work being started. We felt confident in his work and that if there was any reason for concern with works being carried out to the adjoining property Mr Lane would be able to return to assist.
